  • 1 pound chicken breast
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
  • 3/8 cup Frank's RedHot sauce
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 sliced pickled jalapeños, roughly chopped (or banana peppers)
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing

Instructions

  1. Chill the chicken breast in the freezer for 30-45 minutes for easier slicing.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Butter the interior of the hoagie rolls and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  3. Slice chilled chicken thinly and toss with garlic powder and salt.
  4. Sauté sliced onions in a skillet with melted butter until softened.
  5. Bake hoagie rolls for about 5 minutes until warmed and crisped.
  6. Cook the seasoned chicken in the same skillet until browned, then coat with Frank's RedHot sauce.
  7. Layer Provolone cheese over the chicken mixture until melted.
  8. Assemble by filling hoagie rolls with the chicken mixture, sautéed onions, and optional dressings.
