  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter (for crust)
  • 57 tbsp cold water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel sauce)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss them in a bowl with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add cold water to form dough; chill for at least one hour.
  4. Roll out one dough disc into a circle and fit it into your pie pan; fill it with the apple mixture.
