  • 8 oz chopped dark chocolate (60% cocoa)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Beat granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy—about 7 minutes.
  5. Mix in melted chocolate mixture until combined.
  6. Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
  8. Bake for about 11-12 minutes until cracks form on top.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
