Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of your choice)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and sauté sliced onions and bell peppers for 3-5 minutes until tender. If using mushrooms, add them and cook for another 3 minutes.
  2. Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add ground beef. Cook until browned (5-7 minutes), breaking it apart while it cooks.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and place a slice of cheese on top of the mixture; cover with a lid until melted (2-3 minutes).
  5. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  6. Fill each roll with the beef mixture and serve hot.
