If you’re craving a comforting meal with a delicious twist, look no further than our Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf! This savory dish combines the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak and the heartiness of meatloaf in one delightful recipe.

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil and sauté diced green bell pepper and onion for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  4. Press half of the meat mixture into a loaf pan. Layer with four slices of provolone cheese followed by the sautéed peppers and onions. Top with the remaining meat mixture.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes. In the last five minutes of baking, add remaining provolone cheese on top.
  6. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
