Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced or chopped)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 3/4 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into four oval-shaped patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side; remove from the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions and mushrooms until seared and moisture has evaporated (about 7-9 minutes).
  4. Reduce heat and add butter until melted. Stir in flour and gradually whisk in beef broth to create a gravy. Add Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet with the gravy and simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
