  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground turkey with the spices in a bowl and mix until just combined. Form into four patties.
  2. Chill the patties in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. While cooking, mix the southwest sauce ingredients in a separate bowl.
  5. Toast burger buns and assemble by spreading sauce on the bottom bun followed by the patty and desired toppings.
